🛑 Not Just a Chill Weekend: The Real Work of Yin
✨ This isn’t about switching off.
It’s about switching on—deeply, courageously, completely.
The Festival of Yin invites you into the discipline of presence.
The practice of staying. Of not looking away.
Of becoming intimate with the layers of yourself that you rarely get time—or courage—to meet.
This is not the ‘easy yoga’.
This is not just a weekend of nice long stretches and there’s zero chill music.
This is tapas: the fire of transformation that burns at the heart of Yoga.
Except here, it doesn’t come through movement and exertion.
It comes through stillness, focus, and depth.
To sit in one shape, one breath, one moment—long enough to feel where energy is stuck, to see what patterns hold you back, to let what’s unresolved rise to the surface… that takes courage.
And yet this is how we heal.
This is how we return to vitality, clarity, and the power that lives underneath the busy mind and overworked body.
Led by Josie Steedman, freshly returned from Yin Yoga training in Bali with lineage-rooted teachings, this weekend is an opportunity to reclaim the part of your practice that leads you inwards and transforms how you live your life off the mat.
🌀 This is for you if…
You’re not afraid of going deep—emotionally, energetically, spiritually.
You want a practice that meets you where you actually are, not where you’re trying to perform.
You’re seeking intensity without aggression, and strength through stillness.
You know there’s more to Yoga than asana, and you’re ready to feel it.
You’re done skimming the surface. You’re ready to feel the work.
🧘♀️ What You’ll Be Working With
✔ Long-held postures that access the body’s deep architecture—fascia, connective tissue, and the energetic imprint they carry.
✔ Breath and meditative awareness as tools to transform your inner landscape.
✔ The Vayus—the winds of energy that govern digestion, clarity, expansion, and expression.
✔ Inner heat (tapas) cultivated not by speed, but by sustained attention.
✔ Ritual, rhythm, and integration practices to take the work off the mat and into life.
💬 Why Yin, Why Now?
Because what you avoid rules you.
Because numbness is not neutrality.
Because stillness reveals what movement can’t.
Because depth is where your power lives.
Yin is how you access it.
🧘♀️ Weekend Programme
This is your invitation to go deep.
Each session is intentionally designed to guide you through the energetic architecture of Yoga—not just intellectually, but through lived, felt experience.
You’ll meet the five primary Vayus—Prana, Apana, Samana, Udana and Vyana—through the body, the breath, and the challenge of stillness.
Expect intensity, insight and inner shift.
🔥 Day One: The Descent – Grounding, Feeling, Releasing
This is the day we turn inwards.
We ground. We descend into the lower body—hips, legs, pelvis and spine—where so much of our tension, emotion and stuck energy lives. This is where we do the work of letting go.
Saturday, 17 May
9:00–10:30 | Yang/Yin Gentle Flow with Kia Sthira
Wake the body’s intelligence and prepare your nervous system for the deep stillness ahead. This opening session builds awareness through mindful movement before settling into the foundational Yin principle of Kia Sthira—establishing firmness and grace. We’ll begin by cultivating the 5 Qualities of Healthy Breathing—because breath is the bridge to energy, and energy is the substance of transformation.
11:00–12:30 | Back Line Flow + Rotation of Consciousness
Journey down the spine and into the subtle rhythms of your own awareness. This session combines long-held Yin postures with subtle breath-led movement and a guided meditative rotation of consciousness. It’s powerful, precise, and an invitation to meet the energy behind the shape. Expect clarity. Expect recalibration.
14:00–15:30 | Dragon Flow – Working with Apana Vayu
One of the most physically and energetically intense sessions of the weekend. This deep, fascia-releasing hip sequence awakens Apana Vayu—the downward-moving energy linked to release, detoxification and grounding. You’ll meet sensation. You’ll meet resistance. And you’ll learn how to stay. Transformation lives here.
16:00–17:30 | Heart-Centred Gentle Flow + Rotation of Consciousness
We end day one at the heart—softening the chest, shoulders and subtle emotional armour. This is the domain of Samana Vayu, the integrating force that draws scattered energy back to centre. Expect profound calm, emotional resonance, and inner gathering. This is where clarity begins.
🌟 Day Two: The Rise – Opening, Expanding, Soaring
Having grounded and released, we now turn our attention to expansion and expression. The upper body, the breath, the subtle layers of perception—these become our teachers.
Sunday, 18 May
9:00–10:30 | Hearts & Wings Flow – Working with Prana Vayu
We begin with an expansive Yin sequence for the chest, shoulders and arms. Here, we meet Prana Vayu, the inward and upward-moving current responsible for energy intake, inspiration and inner light. This session is about emotional courage, openness and the willingness to rise again, stronger and more spacious.
11:00–12:30 | Restorative Yin – Touching the Nectar
This is where we soften completely—not from collapse, but from conscious surrender. Deep, supported postures allow the body to taste the quiet sweetness (soma) that only arrives when all striving stops. True rest is rare. This is your invitation to remember how powerful it is.
14:00–15:30 | Yang/Yin Integration – The Return
The journey ends where it began—with breath, body and presence. We begin with gentle movement to reawaken the system, followed by a grounding back-line Yin sequence and a final Apana Vayu seated meditation. Integration isn’t just a phase—it’s the practice. This is your return: recalibrated, clear, and powerfully still
